Greek Amphitheatre

Pellopponese
Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus

The amphitheatres were built in the 3rd century to host shows depicting comedy and tragedy, this included singing, dancing and acting, the layout of the amphitheatre allows all sound to travel even to the last row of seats due to its fine tuned construction and use of the surrounding area to create it's famous acoustics.  This theatre can offer you moments of great emotion, either you go there as a visitor or as a spectator. Is it more beautiful when packed with the audience impatiently waiting for the performance to begin or absolutely empty on a sunny morning when you can hear and feel your voice vibrate the air and reach to the final and farthest row of seats.

Explore Santorini
εξερευνήστε τη Σαντορίνη

Santorini rocks in more ways than one. The main island of Thira will take your breath away with its snow drift of white houses lining the cliff tops and, in places, spilling like icy cornices down the terraced rock.
Thira is geared to a conspicuous tourism that is underpinned by enthralling archaeology, fine dining, major wineries, front-row sunsets and a vibrant nightlife. There are even multicoloured beaches of volcanic sand. You’ll share the experience for most of the year with crowds of fellow holidaymakers and day visitors from huge cruise ships, but the island somehow manages to cope with it all.
Things to do and see:
The archaeological museum, Plentiful restaurants, seeing ancient Thira, or the studio and gallery of artist Leoni Atelier

Location:
South east of Athens and north of Crete  in the Mediterranean sea

What to expect:
Expect to need some bag space to take memoirs home and you will need a big appetite, Greek food is full of honey, oil, fish and fresh vegetables. It's light yet rich at the same time but hard to resist. The night-life may be abit of a cultural shock for a small island but all the same, don't expect early nights or wanting to go back to your accommodation at all!

Easter in Greece

Easter is one of everybodys favorite times to be in Greece for a couple of reasons. First of all even if you are not a devout Christian you can't help but be moved by the ceremonies and the way life begins again on Easter Sunday after winter and 40 days of fasting. If you go to the countryside or to the islands wildflowers are in bloom and the hillsides that are usually parched brown in the summer are green from the winter rains. You can't even imagine the fields of flowers and theway life seems to be popping and sprouting up from every crack and crevice. If you are not able to go to the islands or a village but have to stay in Athens, the city also seems blessed because everyone is gone. The streets are quiet and those people who have nowhere to go or who are like me and prefer to stay in Athens when everyone else has left, take walks in the streets and parks and the hills around the Acropolis which are also adorned with green grass and wildflowers.

Time of the Year:
Greek Orthodox Easter Sunday is April 20th for 2014

To keep in mind:
You do not have to fast or be Greek orthodox to participate, Greek people are incredibly hospitable and will welcome you into their home to celebrate Easter

 About Easter:
In greece easter is a long celebration, it is the main celebration of the year and is of high importance to their culture
